How we open your car
We use wedges and long-reach tools and, for some vehicles, specialist lock tools that work through the door lock. These methods are designed to open the car without damaging paint, weatherstrip or glass. We do not use slim jims on modern doors, where they can damage wiring and airbags.
What to have ready
- Your photo ID
- Registration or proof of ownership (it may be inside the car; we check it once open)
- Make, model and year
- The exact location, like a parking lot row or street address
Lost the key, not just locked it in?

Frequently asked questions
Can you open the trunk only?
Yes. If the keys are in the trunk, we can usually open it directly or through the cabin.
Should I call roadside assistance instead?
If you have it, it may cover lockouts. Compare the wait time and price with ours and choose whichever suits you.
